Organization

An Organization is the top-level entity in the Data Mesh Manager that represents a company or business unit. It serves as a container for all other entities and provides the foundation for managing data mesh resources, teams, and access control.

An organization is a logical tenant, which can also be used to model different environments (e.g. production, staging, development).

Setting Up Your Organization

When setting up an Organization, you're creating the foundation for your data platform, including the following:

  • Setting the organization name
  • Configuring the organization's URL (vanity URL)
  • Configuring the organization's logo

Organization Members

You can add members to your organization manually or automatically using SCIM.

Adding members manually is straightforward, by inviting them via email.

To add members automatically, you can set up SCIM (System for Cross-domain Identity Management) to synchronize users from your identity provider (e.g., Microsoft Entra ID) to the Data Mesh Manager.

Organization members can have a special role called "Organization Owner".

Organization Owners have the highest level of access and can manage all aspects of the organization, including creating teams, editing all resources, and configuring settings.

More information about organization roles can be found in the Roles section.
