Change Management

Entropy Data has a permission-based change management built-in. You can enable it under Settings → Change Process → Require approval. This enables the following permissions:

  • CHANGE_REQUEST_SUBMIT
  • CHANGE_REQUEST_APPROVE

These permissions are linked to specific (or custom) team roles. Read more about permissions in Roles & Permissions.

Example

  • A team Member has CHANGE_REQUEST_SUBMIT permission and can submit changes through the UI.
  • A team Owner has CHANGE_REQUEST_APPROVE permission and can approve and accept the proposed change.
  • A team Owner typically also has the RESOURCES_EDIT permission and can edit data products directly without approval.

Custom Team Roles

Enterprise

The enterprise edition comes with custom team roles under Settings → Roles & Permissions, where you can define your own team roles and assign permissions to them.
