The Marketplace is where every data product your organization publishes becomes discoverable. As a data consumer it is your starting point: find data you can trust, understand what it offers, and request access — all self-service.
What the Marketplace is
The Marketplace is a self-service catalog of the data products that teams across your organization have published. Each entry describes what the data is, who owns it, how good it is, and how to get it — so you can evaluate data on your own before involving the owning team.
Find a data product
- Search by name, description, or business term.
- Browse by domain and owning team.
- Filter by tags and classifications — for example to narrow to a domain, or to exclude sensitive data.
- Chat with your data to describe what you need in natural language and let Entropy Data point you to matching data products.
Evaluate before you request
Open a data product to decide whether it fits — before requesting anything:
- Output ports — the ways the data is exposed. A product may offer several (for example PII vs. non-PII, or different versions), and you request access to a specific output port.
- Data contract — the data contract behind each output port defines the schema, semantics, quality guarantees, and terms of use. Read it to know exactly what you would be consuming.
- Certifications & quality — certifications and quality checks show how much you can rely on the data.
- Ownership — the owning team is responsible for the data and reviews access requests.
Request access
Once you have found the right output port, request access to the actual data. The owning team approves it, and access is provisioned in the data platform according to the data contract's terms of use.
